Avalon Marshes, Somerset, Friday May 26th 2023

The Somerset Levels host some of the premier wetlands in the UK. This was once home to Simon, and his knowledge of the landscape and its wildlife will be shared on this full day in the field.

We will explore the adjacent reserves of Shapwick Heath and Ham Wall and the magical wildlife they host, from Marsh Harriers and Bitterns to Hobbies, a host of Dragonflies and much more.

We will be in the field for a full 8 hours so bring sufficient food and drink for the day. There are toilet facilities at the RSPB headquarters at Ham Wall and a cafe nearby. We shall be visiting public hides and walking around the reserve. The area is level but a reasonable level of fitness is required and walking boots or other stout footwear is recommended.

This Wild Day Out is restricted to a maximum of five guests and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Full details of the day will be sent to you once you confirm your booking.

COST : £249 pp

(NOTE: RSPB members do not have to pay car parking or entry fees. Non members must pay for parking in the RSPB Ham Wall car park in addition to the guiding fee)
