Join Simon on this, one of his favourite wetland reserves. We will meet early in the morning and enter the reserve for a full day's wildlife watching. Highlights may include Bearded Tits (Reedlings), Bittern, Marsh Harrier, Otter and much more. Simon will be with you throughout the day to help identify the creatures we encounter and to interpret the subtleties of behaviour we witness. He'll also be on hand to help with photographic and fieldcraft tips.

We will be in the field for a full 8 hours so bring sufficient food and drink for the day. There are toilet and cafe facilities at the RSPB headquarters on site. We shall be visiting public hides and walking around the reserve. The area is level but a reasonable level of fitness is required and walking boots or other stout footwear is recommended. Depending on conditions and encounters we may visit the nearby Morecombe Bay reserve as well.

NOTE: The car park is free to all and reserve entry is free for  RSPB members. Non RSPB members must pay for reserve entry in addition to the guiding fee. At the time of writing this is £9 pp
